Sessional Workshop & Event Assistant

£19-21 per hour plus meetings/admin and additional holiday pay

Flexible hours agreed via a rota – Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday afternoons

What the job offers
Your role will involve assisting with the smooth running of our flagship Friday evening events, Saturday wellbeing workshops and Sunday Philosophy Forums in the Islington area.  Your role will include assisting with practical arrangements and encouraging participants to socialise. You will work in a small experienced and friendly team, supported by our Programmes Manager and Senior Host.  Your sessional hours will be scheduled on a rota and agreed with you well in advance, so that you can plan ahead.  You will attend and be paid for monthly team meetings, 1:1 supervision meetings and professional development sessions in addition to your regular sessional direct work.

Who we are seeking
We are looking for applicants who have experience of assisting at group activities.  You will demonstrate understanding and empathy for participants experiencing mental health issues, mobility challenges and health conditions. You will have a friendly and approachable manner to create a welcoming environment for our participants.  You will have good organisational skills and will have attention to detail, ensuring venues and resources are set up correctly and safely. You will be able to work collaboratively with session leaders and volunteers and take responsibility to work independently as needed.
